About Clackmannanshire Business

Clackmannanshire Business was established in 2007 as a collaboration between Clackmannanshire’s business community and Clackmannanshire Council. Clackmannanshire Business has a Board with senior representatives from the Council and representatives for the broad range of business sectors in the area.

We meet regularly to discuss issues that face our business community and focus on a ‘can-do’ attitude to ensure that businesses already in Clackmannanshire can develop and grow and that we are positively planned to attract new businesses to Clackmannanshire. Local jobs are a priority.

Our key priorities to date have been:

  • Marketing to attract new businesses and jobs, through ‘Imagine Alloa’ which is a high profile marketing initiative.
  • Establishment of, and support for, Business Improvement Districts. We currently support Clacksfirst BID and Alloa Town Centre BID and are considering the establishment of future BIDs.
  • Business networking, training and advice events.
  • Liaison with Council services to provide integrated service delivery.
  • An annual ‘Showcase Your Business’ event giving local businesses the opportunity to promote their products                 or services.

We hold annual networking events with each one attracting up to 100 people. Topics have included:

  • Working with Ineos
  • Zero Waste / Energy Efficiency
  • International marketing
  • Working with the Council – Procurement
  • Working with the Council – Planning and building standards
  • Diageo presentation
  • Independence referendum debate

Clackmannanshire Business represents the interests of all businesses in Clackmannanshire and actively seeks to support businesses to develop and grow in the area.
